A Brief History Of Eby Survey
Our History
George E. Harris, P.E., P.L.S. 826, founded Harris Engineering in 1978 in the city of Beeville, TX. Harris Engineering provided both engineering and land surveying services in the
South Texas area.
The company continued to serve the surrounding counties before Ronald L. Petrus, R.P.L.S. 4030 purchased the enterprise in 1997 and renamed it Harris & Petrus Surveying. At this time the company began to move its core business away from engineering and to surveying. Mr. Petrus brought a focus on technology to the business adopting a fresh technology in the survey business.
In 2011, Nathan Eby purchased Harris & Petrus Survey and moved the home office to Woodsboro, TX. Mr. Eby, R.P.L.S. 6198, has years of land/sea surveying experience and holds a Master of Science degree in Geospatial Engineering from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi.
Eby Survey has assembled a seasoned and well-rounded team with decades of combined experience in the field of Geomatics.
In 2023, Tony Vokey joined our team as Director of Dimensional Control. He holds a degree Geomatic Engineering Technology from the College of North Atlantic in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, previously working on a dimensional control team with Nathan Eby. He has 20+ years of experience in the business, and supports the Houston, Tx office.
The company provides land and oil field surveying, dimensional control, aerial drone mapping and volume calculations, and geographic information systems service.
Eby Survey subscribes to a high level of standards, and our goal is to perform above and beyond our client's expectations.
